SEO (Search Engine Optimize)
SEO (Search engine optimization) is raking your website on top of google search engine .once you rank your website on a google search engine, then there will be more organic traffic on your website.
When we talk about SEO, we primarily talk about google because google has 90% of search engine space. Your website needs SEO if your website is deindexed by mistake if your website doesn’t have a good user experience, if your web page load time is slow if your competitors have better content than yours, if there is improper usage of keywords, and if your website has poor link building as well and Google follows three basic steps to rank your website, the first one is scanning. Google scans a website and copies the entire website’s content and then stores it in the entire search engine’s index. And the second one is indexing and the third one is ranking. when a user search on google, the most relevant website from the index will appear on the search result so, google will rank the website on the search result.
Strategies for SEO
There are two strategies for SEO, on-page SEO and off-page SEO
On Page SEO
Talking about on-page SEO, It is the process of optimizing elements on your website such as keyword research, header, meta description, title tag, internal links, keyword usage, etc. And before we do anything, we need to understand, what keyword we need to rank for. so we do keyword research activities. we can do keyword research activities by using the keyword research tools, Google keyword planner. So you understand how much traffic is being overloaded to that particular keyword, and how relevant is that particular keyword. After finding appropriate and relevant keywords, we need to move toward the title tag, the title tag is the most important factor of on-page SEO. The title tag should be up to 50 to 60 characters.
Next is a meta description, the meta description is summarized content of the webpage and it should be around and up to 150 characters including a keyword that we wanna target to.
The next one that we need to focus on is the URL(uniform resource locator). This is important because it appears on search results and it helps google to know, is this an appropriate keyword that users want to know .and poor URL structure may result in low ranking .so we need to understand to have a clean URL structure.
Now, we move to optimize our page itself. when we come to optimizing our page, it is necessary to organize and manage content. And content is comprised of a hierarchy of header tag, the hierarchy of header tag is the range between H1 to H6.so header tag notify google about which header is using and As per the header tag, google will be able to analyze which is important to show most or not. And header must include the keyword which you wanna rank for. Headers are for organizing content.
You may have heard about the internal linking of websites, right? Internal linking is basically, links from one page of your website to another website. It also allows you to navigate your website from one to another without any barrier.
The next thing is sitemap. sitemap is a list of websites designed to help both users and search engines to understand the structure of a website. Html and XML are two types of sitemap designed for humans and crawlers in google.
Without both on-page and off-page strategies, you can’t rank on google.so it is important to have both on-page and off-page SEO.
Off Page SEO
Off-Page, SEO is the process of optimizing a website by linking your website using link building. we have talked about linking above as well. But you know, for on-page SEO, we use internal linking and for off-page, we use external linking. External linking allows us to have recognition, authority for our website.so, if google found our website recognizable, authentic, then google rank our website to the top. for instance, if there is a link of our website to another genuine website, then we will have high traffic and credibility to our website. That helps to increase brand awareness, best user experience, and get a high chance to rank on top of search engines.
There are three types of SEO, Whitehat SEO, Blackhat SEO, Greyhat SEO .WhiteHat SEO is also called as Ethical SEO. This whitehat SEO follows the guideline of google such as a focus on metatag, title, the body of content, keywords while blackhat SEO uses certain practices which includes finding loopholes and google algorithm for ranking a particular site on search result pages. Blackhat and whitehat SEO is opposite to each other though they both are used for ranking website on the search engine. Talking about Greyhat SEO, it is the practice of using a legal method that helps in improving quality traffic on your site.
